In exchange for riding, I am looking for help with the animals and daily chores and spring clean-up and on occasions that I go away. This could entail staying overnight if I'm going somewhere without the dogs or, if you live close and I'm taking the dogs with me, it would mean caring for all the animals (goat, birds, etc.) while I'm gone. We would work out a fair deal (number of riding hours= number of caretaking hours).
You don't need to be a brilliant rider, but you do need to understand horses. For example, if you get mad at a horse when it’s not doing what you think it should be doing, please don't respond.
If you are more into natural horsemanship, centered riding, or just love the connection with a horse, then you'll fit right in.
Please note that we ride using Spanish bridles and English tack. If you are new to horses but have a passion for it, I'm willing to teach the right person within reason (meaning, within mine and your abilities).
The interested person must be willing to sign a waiver and ride with me a couple of times before we decide it’s a good fit.
You will be able to do as much riding as you want. I’d like to find very confident riders, as we do parades.
